The Eagle Valley
Women's Institute has
donated a book outlining
the history of the organization
to the Sundre
Municipal Library.
" The Story of the
Alberta Women's
Institute" by Catherine C.
Cole and Judy Larmour
tells the story of Alberta's
chapter of the WI movement.
Founded 100 years ago
in Ontario by Adelaide
Hunter Hoodless, the
Women's Institute is dedicated
to promoting
women's rights and issues
facing women and their
families.
The Alberta Women's
Institute was founded in
1909, with the organization
being active in the
Sundre area since 1915.
" We'll make good use
of it," said Library staff
member Gwen Parker.
