Description | Mr. Isreal Shank talks of his grandfather, George Shank, in this letter. He tells stories that he heard as a boy about his grandfather's life from his birth in Quebec, his life in Minnesota, and his eventual settlement in Athabasca and Brooks. Mr. George had a homestead in Athabasca. He also worked in freighting as a tracker. Many details of early freighting and homesteading life are given in this letter. |
