Mary B e l l McCrimmon was born at Lancaster, Gleng
a r r y County, Ontario, on January 11, 1882 where she l a t e r
went to s c h o o l . She attended the S t . Andrew's P r e s b y t e r i an
Church and was married to Edgar Ealkner on June 26, 1907.
Mr. and Mrs. Ealkner came to A l b e r t a i n 1909 r e t u r n i
n g t o Ontario about 1912 where Mrs- Ealkner joined the
Women's I n s t i t u t e branch i n t h a t area. The f a m i l y returned
to Penhold, A l b e r t a , i n 1913 and three years l a t e r when the
Penhold Women's I n s t i t u t e was organized under Miss Mclsaac
Mrs. Ealkner became a member - a valued member u n t i l she moved
t o Sylvan Lake i n 1919- She became the mother o f two sons,
Wesley and Mac, who l a t e r joined the P o l i c e Eorce and now
l i v e i n V i c t o r i a , B r i t i s h Columbia.
I t was l a r g e l y due t o the e f f o r t s of Mrs. E a l k n e r that
