MRS. CHARLES TROIDL Mrs. Charles T r o i d l received her L i f e Membership i n 1955 from the Warner Women's I n s t i t u t e . Luring her f o r t y years of service she held every branch o f f i c e and also served her constituency as chairman of more than one standing committee. Anna Pauline Pittman was the daughter of John and Mary Pittman. Her birthplace was Montgomery, Minnesota. When she was s t i l l a c h i l d her parents moved to South Dakota; i t was here that she wed Charles T r o i d l . Their union was blessed with eight children, four sons and four daughters. They have ten grandchildren. Amongst the Women's Institute projects that Mrs. T r o i dl played an active part were: sponsoring the f i r s t immunization and Well- Baby C l i n i c held i n the Warner community; the free radium f o r the Gait Hospital; the building of a fence around the cemetery; opening and maintaining a waiting room f o r country people; securing the f i r s t l o c a l doctor; organizing the f i r s t country f a i r ; i n s t a l l i n g the f l a g pole and f l a g at the l o c a l school; the i n s t a l l i n g of the f i r s t street lamps; erecting two war memorials for World War 1 and World War 2; k n i t t i ng and sewing for Overseas parcels; raising funds for l o c a l charity; and c o l l e c t i n g for such causes as the Red Cross and Cancer, etc. Mrs. Troidl i s a member of the Catholic Church and i s an ardent worker i n her church. Mr. and MT » S. T r o i d l celebrated their Golden Anniversary on February 20, 1956 with many friends gathering to express t h e ir respect and affection for a grand pioneer couple.
