MRS. WALTBH VALLWORK
Mrs. Vallwork was presented with a L i f e Membership
at a special meeting of Bow Island Women's Institute i n October
1954- She had been an active and valued member of the
branch since 1926 and had served as t h e i r secretary f o r s ix
years as well as several other executive positions. The
presentation was made by Mrs. P. H e i t r i c h , Constituency Convener.
Mrs. Vallwork, nee Marian P o l l i t t was born i n South-port,
Lancashire, England. She came to Bow Island i n 1912
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. T. P o l l i t t . She has thre
children and seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Vallwork has been active i n the United Church
and i n the Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies include rug- makin
gardening and crocheting. I t i s said of her that she has a
ready smile and that she can always see the good i n people.
