Norma joined the Glendale Women's Institute i n I966 to s a t i s y her s o c i a l and educational needs. She held office at Branch l e v e l and i n recognition of her leadership q u a l i t i e s she served terms as Constituency Convener and D i s t r i c t 4 Director. Her Conferences were excellent and s h e ' l l be remembered for her" humorous jokes" related i n her merry way which excited laughter and amusement at many meetings. She has arranged hospitality, often i n her own home, for v i s i t i n g members from other provinces and countries. During Mrs. Ethel Morrisroe* s Presidency ( 1973- 75) she was asked to represent A. W. I, at the Red Cross meetings usually held i n Calgary Through this representation she became Provincial Chairman of " Women's Work and Volunteer Services" for the Red Cross and represented Alberta at National Red Cross meetings. During her term as A. W. I. P u b l i c i t y Chairman she located judges to select winners of pictures turned i n for the P i c t o r i a l History of Agriculture,( a project instigated by Z e l l a Pimm). It was through her suggestion that a book be published . Norma was appointed Chairman and was responsible for a successful launching, editing and publication of the " P i c t o r i a l History of Agriculture-" Yesterday". Norma enjoys swimming, gardening and traveling. She i s presently involved with the Museum i n her area. Her cheerful and spontaneous personality and her s i n c e r i t y has endeared her to a l l who knew her. She i s a d i l i g e n t and conscientious W. I. member and i s t i r e l e s s i n her e f f o r t s to promote " Home and Country" through A. W. I. In recognition of her dedicated service A. W. I, presented her with a " Life Membership" in the Alberta Women's Institute at the 1984 A. W. I. Convention held at Olds College.
