from the r e g u l a r work at the Schools of A g r i c u l t u r e d u r i n g the
terms from e a r l y October t o the end of A p r i l and the summer
courses at the Schools, a great deal of extension work was
c a r r i e d on by the teachers - meetings with Women's I n s t i t u te
groups, United Farm Women and other women's o r g a n i z a t i o n s.
School F a i r s were also an important part of our work and
l a t e r the 4- H G i r l s ' Clubs. I t h i n k I have v i s i t e d every town
and community i n A l b e r t a i n connection with my work. Although
my n a t i v e province i s Ontario, I f e e l I am a l s o a part of A l b e r ta
as I have worked so c l o s e l y w i t h Albertans f o r so many years and
have had such a pleasant r e l a t i o n s h i p with them. I have learned
a great deal from the women of A l b e r t a as i t was sometimes a
' you and me' together r e l a t i o n s h i p i n the e x t e n s i o n work."
Mrs. A. B. McGorman, President of the A l b e r t a Women's
I n s t i t u t e s , presented Miss Mclntyre with an Honorary Membership
on her retirement i n 1951 from the School of A g r i c u l t u r e and the
Government.
Miss Mclntyre has made her home i n Edmonton since 1951
where she has joined the Bdmonton V/ omen's I n s t i t u t e.
