MRS. E. KNUETSON
Kate S h i r e r was born October 12, 1884 i n the small
town of Green, Iowa. She was one of a f a m i l y of eight
c h i l d r e n born t o Greenwell and Mary E l l e n S h i r e r , an
American couple of German descent. She met Mr. Knudtson i n
L a j o r d , Saskatchewan, s h o r t l y a f t e r her a r r i v a l i n Canada
and they were married on November 25, 1911*
The f o l l o w i n g spring the Knudtsons moved t o D i l k e,
Saskatchewan, and i t was here while they were homesteading
