Mrs. Chalmers joined the W i l l i n g Workers Women's I n s t i t u t e i n
April, 1927, a few months a f t e r the Branch had been organized i n
November 1926. She has been a f a i t h f u l member continuously ever
since that time.
During florid Bar 11, Mrs* Chalmers worked d i l i g e n t l y for the
Women's I n s t i t u t e , and the Hed Cross, k n i t t i n g for the s o l d i e r s,
sewing, and making q u i l t s.
She has made over twenty q u i l t s , and has crocheted hundreds
of p a i r s of p i x i e s l i p p e r s f o r the U n i t a r i a n Service Committee.
In 1966, the members of the W i l l i n g Workers Women's I n s t i t u te
honored lira* Chalmers with a L i f e Membership i n the A l b e r t a
Women's I n s t i t u t e s , i n appreciation of her many c o n t r i b u t i o ns
i n carrying on the work f o r home and Country.
