MRS. W. R. FORD
Mrs. Ford joined the Manherries Women's I n s t i t u te
i n 1929 when, as one of the l o c a l teachers, she was persuaded
to become the l e a d e r o f the A. W. I. G i r l s ' Club.
In 1938 she married Walter R. Ford of Coutts, A l b e r t a,
and the couple s e t t l e d on a farm i n ' The Border Country' east
of the v i l l a g e . Here they s t i l l reside w i t h much o f t h e ir
farming i n t e r e s t s devoted t o r a i s i n g commercial Hereford c a t t l e.
A Charter Member o f Sunshine Women's I n s t i t u t e , Mrs.
Ford served as the f i r s t president, h o l d i n g the o f f i c e f o r two
years. She has served s u c c e s s i v e l y as Convener o f Warner Con-
