MRS. MELVIN BALLHOEN
Mrs. Florence G.( Bette) B a l l h o r n , nee Bannerman, was horn i n
Calgary and resided there f o r ten years, moving then to Beiseker and
to Wetaskiwin i n 1933* Following High School she graduated from
McTavish Business College and was a l e g a l secretary f o r four and one
h a l f years p r i o r to her marriage to Melvin B a l l h o r n i n 1943.
They have two c h i l d r e n , a son Wayne who i s married and farms out
of Wetaskiwin and a daughter Joan who i s married and l i v e s i n Calgary.
They have seven grand children.
Bette became a member of the Angus Ridge Women's I n s t i t u t e i n
1944 and has held a l l o f f i c e s i n the Branch.
In I965 she was appointed P r o v i n c i a l Handicraft Convener f or
four years and i n 1973 Bette became 1st Vice President f o r a term of
