Mrs. Ross has three c h i l d r e n , x^ ary at home, operates the Pord Garage;
Josephine of V i c t o r i a , B. C. and xiobert who operates the Rocky Farm Service;
There are seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ross i s an ardent church worker, and was president of the Presbyt
e r i a n ./ omen's Guild f o r eleven years. In 1957 she was presented with a
l i f e Membership i n the ,/ omen's missionary Society, and i n 1952 she was
made a L i f e Member of the L. O. B. A., of which sue i s a Charter Member. i i •><=
She has a l s o been a member of the Eastern Star, and of the X. O. D. S.
Mrs. Ross joined the Rocky Mountain house Women's I n s t i t u t e i n May,
19 26, becoming a Charter Member « She has held a l l o f f i c e s of the l o c a l
Branch. During the second World far, she was one of the two VIomen's
I n s t i t u t e members i n the overseas League, which sent hundreds of p a r c e ls
overseas. Mrs. Ross was instrumental i n the ./ omen's I n s t i t u t e c ar
r a f f l e i n 1944, which proved t o be a successful p r o j e c t . After complet
i o n of the Overseas League, the Women's I n s t i t u t e H a l l was b u i l t with
the balance of the car r a f f l e money, and Mrs. Ross acted on the b u i l d ing
committee. This H a l l i s a b e n e f i t t o the community, and a source of
income f o r the Women's I n s t i t u t e Branch. Mrs. Ross was Chairman of the
Cancer Campaign, sponsored by the Women's I n s t i t u t e , unci has always
c a r r i e d i t out s u c c e s s f u l l y.
In recognition of her work i n the .. omen's I n s t i t u t e , and i n the l i f e
of the community, her fellow I n s t i t u t e members presented Mrs. Ross with
a L i f e Membership i n the A l b e r t a Iomen's I n s t i t u t e i n March 1965.
