Mrs. Wm. Suddaby was born
E r l i n e Opal Roth at F o r e s t -
burg, A l b e r t a , on October
19th, 1917.
At the age o f s i x her
c parents, one b r o t h e r ana one
J s i s t e r moved t o V e g r e v i l le
J and s e t t l e d on a farm southeast
o f Lavoy where they r e mained
f o r s i x years. While
there she attended the V i c t ory
school u n t i l the age o f
twelve when the f a m i l y moved
J to the R a n f u r l y d i s t r i c t and
she attended the Avon school.
A f t e r completing school she d i d housework u n t i l her marriage
at the age o f 22 t o Wm. Suddaby. They s e t t l e d on h i s farm south
of lavoy. In 1945 they moved t o the Rosegarland d i s t r i c t , a l
though Lavoy was s t i l l t h e i r Post O f f i c e . She j o i n e d Rosegarland
W. I. that f a l l f o r one year but was unable to continue. After a
few years they moved c l o s e r i n i n the same d i s t r i c t but V i k i ng
became t h e i r Post O f f i c e , and she r e j o i n e d.
She served as President and t w i c e as Vice President o f her
branch, and as Constituency Convener o f Wainwright Constituency
f o r four years with term ending Mayl963-
Mrs. Suddaby has f i v e c h i l d r e n , three o f whom are married and
there are two grandsons. Her hobbies are fancy work and r e a d i n g.
This L i f e Membership was presented to Mrs. Suddaby by the
Wainwright Constituency f o r f o u r years of c o n s c i e n t i o u s and cheerf
u l work as the Convener, and f o r many years of f a i t h f u l and unt
i r i n g e f f o r t s as a branch member which has been an i n s p i r a t i o n t o
other members.
