I graduated from the P r o v i n c i a l Normal School i n Predericton, New Brunswick and l a t e r attended the University i n the same province, graduating i n Arts i n 1905. The same year I came west to Saskatchewan and was the f i r s t teacher i n the town of Stockholm, teaching i n a church as there was no school as yet. In 1906 I married a Presbyterian minister, the Rev. John Brown, then of Esterhazy. We came to A i r d r i e , Alberta,, i n 1907 and to our homestead i n Verdant Valley i n 1909. My husband did mission work i n the surrounding country, preaching i n the homes and school houses and i n the nearby towns of Rose-dale, Munson and Drumheller as they came into existence. Since his death i n 1946 I have resided i n Drumheller." Mrs. Brown ( Violet Evelyn) i s the mother of two daughters and three sons. There are eleven grandchildren.
