Hughenden W. I. presented Mrs. Parke with a L i f e Membership
at t h e i r Christmas Party December 1961 i n r e c o g n i t i o n o f her many
years of outstanding work as an I n s t i t u t e member. During the years
her attendance has been almost p e r f e c t - i n eleven years she missed
only one meeting and that was due to the i l l n e s s of her husband and
she also has had two 5- year p e r f e c t attendance as w e l l . She i s an
e x c e l l e n t example o f a W. I. member, having courage, kindness, good
common sense and a good sense of j u s t i c e . Her co- operation has been
outstanding. A s p e c i a l ceremony and program was planned and c a r r i ed
out w i t h the p r e s e n t a t i o n being made by a f e l l o w member, Mrs. Dave
Ward.
In a l l these years her g r e a t e s t achievement, Mrs. Parke f e e l s,
through the W. I. work has been the b e a u t i f i c a t i o n of the l o c a l ceme
t e r y and c o n t r i b u t i o n s to the Community H a l l and community e f f o r t s.
She f e e l s her g a i n has been the making o f many f r i e n d s h i p s and much
wisdom gained through the W. I. work.
