MRS. SAfYI ELLIOTT
Irene D o l l was born i n H a y s c i l l e , Ontario and came west with her
f o l k s a r r i v i n g i n Didsbury i n 1918 on New Yeafs Day. She worked as
a h i r e d g i r l i n the d i s t r i c t.
On Way 12, 1924 she married Sam E l l i o t t at Prince R u p e r t , B r i t i sh
Columbia. They were blessed with six c h i l d r e n , f i v e g i r l s and one
son. Irene and Sam have many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. E l l i o t t has been a continuous member of the " Lone Pine"
Women's I n s t i t u t e for 47 years. She has served on the Branch Execu
t i v e as President, Secretary, Director and S o c i a l Convener,
i n c l u d i n g a four year term as Constituency Secretary. She has worked
hard and d i l i g e n t l y for the Women's I n s t i t u t e and was always
w i l l i n g to do her share and often much more. Her cheerfulness and
encouragement through the hard times kept the Branch together.
