When the Edmonton Women's Institute had the Tea Room at the
Women's Building at the Exhibition, Mr ® :. Wood convened the Tea
Room for eight years. For four years during the last war, Mrs.
Wood gave half a day every week, to the lavy League work room.
She also worked with the Women's Regional Advisory Committee
of the Wartime Prices and Trade Board.
Mrs. Wood's other chief interest has been with wnat i s now
Westminster United Church. She was on the Session for several
years, and Treasurer of trie Ladies' Aid for eleven years. She
- was President of the Central Women's association for two years.
She served four years on trie Executive of Presbytery w. A . , two
years as Corresponding Secretay, and two as t h i r d Vice President.
Mrs. Wood was l e f t a widow i n 1939. She has two daughters,
both are married. The elder daughter l i v e s i n Vancouver, and
the younger daughter l i v e s i n Winnipeg. Mrs. Wood has one grandson.
In 1955, trie members of the Edmonton Women's Institute
presented Mrs. Wood with a L i f e Membership i n the Alberta
Women's Institutes, i n recognition of her many years of
f a i t h f u l service to Home and Country.
