MRS. 0. B. ROE
On November 8, 1882, a l i t t l e daughter was born to
bless the home of David and Elizabeth Muckle i n Blenheim,
Ontario. They gave her the name of V i o l a Myrtle. Being
of I r i s h descent, her sunny nature carried her through a
happy childhood at Blenheim where she attended school.
On December 29, 1909, she became the wife of 0. B.
Roe and the couple moved to a farm i n the Vulcan, Alberta,
area where they s t i l l reside. As the years went by she became
the mother of O r v i l l e and Leta and the grandmother of
Douglas, Leta, Gordon and Joyce Roe.
Mrs. Roe has been active i n community work a l l her
l i f e , especially i n the United Church and the Alberta Women
i n s t i t u t e s . She has been a member of the Thigh H i l l Women'
Institute for over t h i r t y years. She was i t s president for
f i v e years and served on the Board of Directors.
