MRS. H. E. JERRY
Josephine Young was horn of Scottish and German parents
i n F a l l River, Kansas. She completed high school i n Gildford,
Montana, and worked i n her father's General Store at Gildford
u n t i l her marriage to Henry E a r l Jerry i n 1916.
The Jerry family came to Peace River i n 1920. They have
one son, Robert. In 1921 she joined the l o c a l branch of the
Women's I n s t i t u t e . Thirty- one years l a t e r Peace River W. I.
presented her with a L i f e Membership i n the organization i n
grateful appreciation of her f a i t h f u l service as a member, d i r ector,
vice- president and president of the branch over the years.
She was the tenth woman i n Alberta to be so honored. Mrs. Jerry
was i l l i n bed at the time of the presentation.
Mrs. Jerry Is a member of the United Church of Canada, and
the Women's Association; the Order of the Eastern Star and of
the Order of the Royal Purple.
