MRS. DOROTHY HOSEGOOD
Dorothy was born i n Barrie, Ontario i n 1904 and came west with
her family when she was two years old. The family settled at Clive,
Alberta where Dorothy received her schooling and attended Normal
School to t r a i n to become a teacher.
While teaching at the at the town of Zenith, some 20 miles
south- east of S t 6 t t l e r , she organized an Institute and stayed there as
a member for two years. ( She laughlingly told us that she wasn't quali
f i e d to organize such a group as she had never belonged to one before.)
Wherever she went, during her teaching career, she was a member of a
W. I. i f there was one within t r a v e l l i n g distance.
Dorothy joined the Rugby W. I. Branch i n 1934 and held a l l o f f i c es
within the Branch and though never a Constituency Convenor she did go
on to be Director of D i s t r i c t 5 « She was Secretary to Mrs. Rose Robertson
during her term as Constituency Convenor and was again the
