F i r s t of a l l , we must a p o l o g i z e f o r any d e l a y i n a n s w e r i n g your
l e t t e r or d o n a t i o n of books and money t h a t you or your group has sent to
the I n u v i k C e n t e n n i a l L i b r a r y . Since our i n i t i a l widespread request f o r
books over a year ago, we have been r e c e i v i n g so many and so frequent
shipment of books that our hope to answer each donation by a p e r s o n al
l e t t e r i s an i m p o s s i b i l i t y.
Rather than delay any l o n g e r i n acknowledging your kindness i n
s u p p l y i n g us w i t h so many i n t e r e s t i n g books, we are s e n d i n g t h i s l e t t er
to each person or group.
Some of the s m a l l e r communities nearby are a l s o r e c e i v i n g the b e n e f i ts
of your g o o d w i l l as we have been able t o send along books that we may have
s e v e r a l copies of. We are e n c l o s i n g a l e a f l e t p i c t u r i n g the people who
make use o f the l i b r a r y . In one year's o p e r a t i o n s , our membership has passed
1,100, most of whom are c h i l d r e n between 6 and 1H years of age. Over 15,000
books have been c i r c u l a t e d and the attendance each month i s o v e r 900 people.
Thank you a g a i n f o r your kindness and g e n e r o s i t y . It has indeed
shown to us i n the North the g o o d w i l l o f our neighbours to the s o u t h and
has made C e n t e n n i a l year a more meaningful one f o r a l l o f u s.
