D/ S7RICT III Pine Lake Kathleen Lawrence 886- 4815 _ Jw> With nine members present, president Irma Lawrence opened the first meeting of the New Year by reading a poem, A Winter Dream. The 1994 programs were handed out, reviewed and accepted. The annual Heart Fund card party will be held, 8 p. m., Feb. 26 at the Hub Community Centre. An Estate Planning Seminar will be held Feb. 17 from 1: 30- 4: 30 p. m. in the Hub Community Centre. The WI will supply coffee. Pine Lake WI went on record as opposing the formation of an Alberta Farmer's Market Association as it was felt such a move would defeat our purpose in providing a community service. Program was Citizenship given by Doris Warke. She outlined, via a flip- chart, the responsibilities that are expected of persons applying for Canadian Citizenship. Milestones in Canadian Citizenship, as it applies to women, were listed beginning in 1867. * * * * *^^^^^^^^^_ r Pine Lake Kathleen Lawrence 886- 4815 Due to the cold weather the Feb. 8 meeting was held Feb. 11 at which time president Irma Lawrence welcomed guests Helen Williams, Constituency Convener and Grace Grover, District 3 Director and Educational and Cultural Activities Convener. Minute Minders were given and correspondence dealt with. Marion Brown gave an up- date on the Pine Lake History Book reminding us that 1995 is the 30th anniversary of the famous annual coffee party. Guest speaker, Helen Williams, \ gave a brief outline of the structure of the Women's Institute organization from branch level to international level which is Associated Country Women of the World. Helen also spoke of the workshop at Grey Nuns Centre in Edmonton, noting that the Farm Safety Workbooks, a project of AWI are on hold pending receipt of corporate funding.
