Kathleen Lawrence and Doris Warke attended the 13th FWIC Convention
i n Truro, Nova Scotia. ( Agricultural College Campus) Kathleen Lawrence writes,
" Conventions of any kind are not my ' Cup of Tea*, but being able to share the
experience with Doris Warke, who had never been to the Maritimes and also enjoy the
post convention tour is a pleasant memory.
k highlight of the two weeks i3 f i r s t l y the two addresses 6 iven by David Irvine and
more specifically the wish of hope expressed by one woman from Quebec that, " I
sincerely hope that i n the year 1997 when the 100th Anniversary of Women's Institutes
Organization i s celebrated, we i n Quebec w i l l s t i l l be a part of Canada."
A very sobering thought and possibly points out the value of an organization such
