1992 EVENTS ( Continued) BRANCH AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES ( Cont'd.) were PLWI members Sponsored Fort Edmonton Tour Aug. 19- 5/ 45 participants Win Tester rioad Clean Up Participation - Area bordering members' property- Annual Coffee Tarty - AWI Salt & Pepper Shakers won by Mrs. Westerner Exhibition Group of Five - $ 25.00 1st Placing Kerry Vvood Nature Centre Membership - Wild Flower Survey Annual Family Christmas Supper Past Members remembered with UNICEF Christmas Greetings Annie Allen was honoured on her 95th Birthday - W. I. and Guild staged a party at the West Park Nursing Home for the Nov. 11th event Congratulations were extended to Roy & Marion Brown on their 40th Wedding Anniversary. As well as a community and family dance, Roy and Marion marked the milestone by travelling to China, Australia and New Zealand for 105 days, Sympathy was extended to John and Doris Warke on the death of Charles Warke on July 23, 1992 and to Dorothy Herbert and Family on the death of Percy Herbert December 31, 1992. No J e l l y Project - Summer of no berries, no juice! CONSTITUENCY ACTIVITIES: Constituency Handicraft Display & Tea - Gayle Olson won the Quilt Award and Outstanding Articles by Doris Warke, Gayle Olson, L i l l ie Clutton and Marion Brown. $ 50.00 donated to Judges' Fund as this service is no longer available free from Alberta Agriculture. Constituency Conference - Marilyn Wattenbarger as delegate Supported Constituency Froject ' Unit ,. 37' with a donation of two afghans as well as $ 18.00 worth of crocheted articles sold for this cause. Meals on Wheels - 21 doz. Cookies ALBERTA WOMEN'S INSTITUTES FROJECTS: D i s t r i c t Conference - Marmalade and a Quilted item for sales table. Marion Brown was o f f i c i a l delegate with five other members attending: Gayle Olson, Kathleen Lawrence, Doris Warke, E l l a Sawyer, L i l l i e Clutton. A. W. I. & Women of Unifarm Joint Convention - Kathleen Lawrence o f f i c i a l delegate. 20 Handicraft Articles from PLWI. ASSOCIATED COUNTRY WOMEN OF THE WORLD: 32 Jars of Marmalade made and sold with proceed Project ( Changed to Czechoslovakian Children's Camp Project) International Women's Day ( March 8) - Recognize evening at the HUB with eight women present ( 4 Wl/ 4 non) World Food Day - Recognized with donations to Food Bank Pennies for Friendship - $ 19.05 Personal contact with the Australian Haden QCWA i n December as Roy and Marion Brown v i s i t ed the Newtoris and the branch members.
