T W E N T Y - F I R S T PROVINCIAL CONVENTION 25 Callaghan, at Hines Creek, April 27th, 1938. Foothills, at High River, May 26th, 1938. Highway, at Red Deer, June 6th, 1938. Hobbema, at Hobbema, June 24th, 1938. Friendly, at Rivereourse, July 2nd, 1938. Gordon, at Innisfail, July 14th, 1938. Innisfree, at Innisfree, October 1st, 1938. Glendon, at Glendon, October 22nd, 1938. Alhambra, at Alhambra, December 3rd, 1938. Mountain Heights, at Leslieville, December 8th, 1938. Mulhurst, at Mulhurst, April 14th, 1939. Wide Canyon, at Canyon Creek, August 4th, 1939. We heartily welcome these new Branches to our family of Institutes and trust that they are represented at this Convention. Of these, Holborn and James River Bridge had to disband this year, and we have also lost in the past two years, Everready, Lucky Strike, Waskasoo, Neutral Valley, Optimistic, Sunshine, Garrington and Birch Lake. It is a pleasure to report that there were six new Women's Institute Girls' Clubs organized during the past two years. They were as follows: Dancing Daisies W. I. G. C., at Innisfail, August 31st, 1937. Grimshaw W. I. G. C., at Grimshaw, October 12th, 1937. Home Pals W. I. G. C., at Enilda, February 28th, 1938. Prairie Pals W. I. G. C., at Picture Butte, November 12th, 1938. Sunflower Jr. W. I. G. C., at Barons, February 13th, 1939. Merry Mixers W. I. G. C., at Wrentham, April 13th, 1939. In December 1937, 256 Annual Report Forms were sent out to that many Branches; 208 were filled out and returned to me, showing a membership of 3,371. These Branches raised $ 30,220.38 and their disbursements were $ 25,036.72—$ 2,524.47 was spent on Public Health work, $ 1,735.79 on Education and $ 5,766.00 on community betterment. Other voluntary contributions to Philanthropic and Benevolent organizations amounted to $ 1,265.34. From this amount, the Salvation Army was sent $ 81.50, the Red Cross $ 222.46, Wood's Christian Home $ 55.30, Institute for the Blind, $ 15.15 and Cancer Fund $ 745.75. After revising the list of Branches, 226 Annual Report Forms were sent out in December 1938 to that number of Institutes; 210 were filled and returned showing a membership of 3,659. Total receipts amounted to $ 32,869.71, and total expenditures $ 24,877.31. On Public Health work $ 3,592.52 was spent, on work connected with Education and Better Schools, $ 2,006.27 was spent and for community betterment $ 5,331.70. Other contributions amounted to $ 604.12, of which $ 113.00 went to Red Cross, $ 91.00 to the Salvation Army, $ 54.80 to Wood's Christian Home and $ 76.52 to the Cancer Fund.
