" W h e r e a s the e x a m i n a t i o n for G r a d e V I I I is p u b l i c s c h o o l l e a v i n g a n d e v e ry c h i l d is u r g e d t o complete the p u b l i c s c h o o l course, " A n d whereas we believe t h a t the p u b l i c school t a x s h o u l d cover t h e cost of such e x a m i n a t i o n and " W h e r e a s m a n y c h i l d r e n w h o are d o u b t f u l of t h e r e s u l t h a v e d e c i d e d against p a y i n g e x a m i n a t i o n fees; " T h e r e f o r e be it r e s o l v e d that the W o m e n ' s I n s t i t u t e ask the D e p a r t m e nt of E d u c a t i o n t o e l i m i n a t e the fee for G r a d e V I I I e x a m i n a t i o n . " C o n s i d e r i n g h o w difficult it is, for financial reasons, for some c h i l d r e n to receive a h i g h school e d u c a t i o n and " W h e r e a s it s h o u l d be the p r i v i l e g e of e v e r y c h i l d to receive s u c h e d u c a t i o n; " T h e r e f o r e be i t r e s o l v e d that the A l b e r t a W o m e n ' s I n s t i t u t e s request t h e D e p a r t m e n t of E d u c a t i o n t o reduce the e x a m i n a t i o n fees t o w h a t t h e y were l a s t y e a r ."
