It has p r o v i d e d a p l a y g r o u n d for one school and a clock for another. Some good papers have been g i v e n b y the teachers on e d u c a t i o n , school work in general, school hygiene a n d decorations. The C h a i r m a n o n E d u c a t i o n a n d B e t t e r, Schools for t h e West O l d C o n s t i t u e n c y spoke also o n these matters. T h e Convener prepared an address on C o - o p e r a t i o n between Home, School and C o m m u n i t y , also a q u e s t i o n n a i r e w i t h the following answers therefrom. T h e r e is a school for every c h i l d in L i t t l e B o w C o n s t i t u e n c y , There are two C o n s o l i d a t e d Schools s i t u a t e d at C h a m p i o n a n d B a r o n s r e s p e c t i v e l y . Carmangay re|> orts d e n t a l and medical inspections. Golden R u l e is e n d e a v o r i n g to procure a muni* i p a l nurse. The l o r d ' s P r a y e r seems to be repeated in n e a r l y a l l of the schools i n the C o n s t i t u e n c y. B A R O N S - - A s s i s t e d the school board to s u p p l y hot lunches d u r i n g the winter months, and the management of C o m m u n i t y X m a s Tree and Concert. Institute folder is kept for c l i p p i n g s o n e d u c a t i o n a n d b e t t e r schools. Prize has been offered for school w i t h highest attendance. C A R S T A I R S - - P u b l i c speaking contest was h e l d in A p r i l w i t h twenty- two con-ti- stanis, nine i n senior g r o u p and t h i r t e e n in the j u n i o r . Two prizes were donated 10 each group. Four prizes of books were also donated for this i n the P r i m a r y. A Parent- Teachers Association has been formed which is d o i n g v e r y good work. F O R S C H O O L - - A s s i s t teachers to secure s u i t a b l e equipment for playgrounds, pianos, lunches, lanterns, medical inspection, scholarships and prizes and many t h i n g s w h i c h school boards hesitate to p r o v i d e. F O R U T I L I Z I N G W O M E N ' S P O W E R S . — T h e y t r a i n , strengthen, inspire and cons o l i d a t e the " W o m e n ' s M i n d " of the c o m m u n i t y on problems of t r a i n i n g c h i l d r e n. T h e y b r i n g a b o u t b e t t e r B o a r d of E d u c a t i o n t h r o u g h the e l e c t i o n of women trustees. F O R F U R T H E R I N G E D U C A T I O N .— T h e y give e d u c a t i o n a l leaders the o p p o r t u n i ty to e x p l a i n to parents the newer and accepted theories of e d u c a t i o n and the new methods of teaching. " H u m a n i t y , " says President T h e w i n g , " i s l e a r n i n g t h a t i t is b e t t e r economy to devote the large share of i t s revenue to the e d u c a t i o n of c h i l d r e n t h a n to e x p e n d it for the care of t h e c r i m i n a l , the defective, a n d the pauper t h r o u g h a score of y e a r s ."
