20 A L B E R T A W O M E N ' S I N S T I T U T ES moved to Valhall and has been instrumental in r e v i v i n g an old branch at that place The constituencj conference was held at Wembley. A large attendance, splendid reports, good music and a visit from our provincial president made it a successful conference. Peace River constituency has six branches- Peace River, G r i f f i n Creek, E r i n Lodge, and Fairview, and two new blanches, Berwyn and Kirndale. Reports show that much woik has been done duung the year. In Peace River the W I has amalgamated with the hospital auxiliary, and p r a c t i c a l ly a l l monej raised is turned ovei to the Hospital Board The Cottage Hospital at Waterhole, owned and opeiated by the F a i r v i ew branch, is well equipped and fully paid for, and has proved to be a great boon to the commumtj. The blanch at B e r w \ n has been oiganized mainly w i t h a view to carrying on hospital work Guffm Cieek and E n n Lodge are responsible for most of the " social doings" m their lespective neighborhoods. The constituency conference was held at Wateihole, each branch being well represented Good leports weie gr> en A little play, put on by the E r i n Lodge ladies, was much enjoyed The Grouaid constituencj has three blanches McLennan, High P r a i r ie and B i g Meadow, a new bianch oiganized by Mis Dickson, constituency convener The usual good work has been carried on bj these branches Last year we reported that the objective of the McLennan Branch was a community hall This year we aie proud to l e p o i t the hall an accomplished fact and a great addition to oui town, where pievioush everything in the natuie of a public meeting had to be held m the school. The constituency conference was held at High P r a n i e Here there is a v e i y active blanch which does much communit\ woik The new branch, " B i g Meadows," has 21 members enrolled At M c M u r i a y theie is a branch which does good work among the childien and w h e i e \ e i a helping hand is needed It is unfortunate that owing to its isolated position it has not had a visit from any member of the boaicl I have heard through visitors of the great blessing it is to the commumtj The demonstiators sent out bj the Depaitment are \ ei\ welcome and much appreciated m this north country Di M u n a y Thompson, oiaam/ er for the Council of Social Hygiene, attended each of our c o n s t i t u e n t confeienccs and dehveied very interesting and mstiuctive addi esses R E P O R T OF D I S T R I C T No 2 ( M i s A H Rogeis. D n e c t o i) This district consists of 14 constituencies, in which 54 Institutes are located These aie giouped to p i o \ i d e f o i ten constituency conferences. The epidemic of infantile paraljsis pi evading last t a l l upset the conference dates to such an extent that it was necessaiv to cancel three of them. It was the unanimous wish of the conferences that the dates be set forward one month, making the conferences come in August oi eail} September. This opinion was endorsed at the distuct confeience The vanous lines of work undertaken by the blanches will be covered bj the leports of the conveners of standing committees. Camrose Constituency, Mrs J Mavor, Davsland, convener, has six blanches— Davsland, Ohaton, A l b u i v , Bashaw, Camiose and Round H i l l , and one G i r l s ' Club. In this constituency money is l a i s e d i n the branches accordi n g to their needs, but emphasis is laid on educational piogiammes. The w o i k of all the standing committees is well organized The conference had to be cancelled, but an excellent l e p o i t of the w o i k of this constituency was given at the district conference this spung Edmonton, Sturgeon and V i c t o r i a Constituencies, Mrs. L E. Moraw, Waskatenau, convener, has five branches— Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Bon Accord, Pine Creek and Warspite, and two G i l l s ' Clubs A successful conference was held at Wmterburn, m conjunction with Stony P l a i n . Reports showed community interest, educational progiammes and practical suggestions claimed the attention of these branches, along w i t h philanthropic work.
