o f f e r e d to l e t her name s t a n d f o r P r e s i d e n t , so we how need
n o m i n a t i o n s f o r P r e s i d e n t E l e c t and V i c e P r e s i d e n t.
N o m i n a t i o n s were to c l o s e March 15th but we have e x t e n d e d t h i s u n t il
A p r i l 30, 1993. This w i l l a l l o w t i m e f o r Resumes to be f o r w a r d e d to
b r a n c h e s t o d i s c u s s p r i o r to c o n v e n t i o n.
N o m i n a t i o n s w i l l be t a k e n from the f l o o r.
I know some v e r y c a p a b l e women i n our o r g a n i z a t i o n who have not been
C o n s t i t u e n c y C o n v e n e r s or D i s t r i c t D i r e c t o r s and do not want to
commit 15 y e a r s of t h e i r l i f e but are w i l l i n g to t a k e an E x e c u t i ve
p o s i t i o n and p e r h a p s commit 9 y e a r s.
They c o u l d even be V i c e P r e s i d e n t f o r t h r e e y e a r s and then d e c i d e i f
t h e y w i s h t o c a r r y on f o r a n o t h e r 6 y e a r s.
We must l o o k at t h o s e t a k i n g E x e c u t i v e p o s i t i o n s d i f f e r e n t l y and not
say " t h a t i s t h e way i t has a l w a y s been done - t o come up t h e l a d d er
f o r 15 y e a r s " , t h e r e f o r t h a t i s t h e way we must c o n t i n u e.
In t h e i r younger y e a r s - women a r e w o r k i n g - i n t h e i r l a t e r y e a r s -
more women want to t r a v e l.
SO I URGE YOU TO LOOK AROUND, WHO DO YOU KNOW THAT IS CAPABLE OF
TAKING AN EXECUTIVE POSITION?
TALK TO THEM ENCOURAGE THEM......... WE NEED THEM.

E d u c a t i o n a l C o n v e n e r s - p e r h a p s i t i s t i m e to do s o m e t h i n g d i f f e r e n t?
PERHAPS IT IS TIME FOR A CHANGE? P e r h a p s E d u c a t i o n a l C o - o r d i n a t o r s?
Ask your C o n s t i t u e n c y Convener about t h i s at the upcoming
c o n f e r e n c e s . It was d i s c u s s e d at the l a s t J a n u a r y Workshop.
A n o t h e r change we ask. you to l o o k at i s c o m b i n i n g some of the
C o n s t i t u e n c y C o n f e r e n c e s . Some of our C o n s t i t u e n c i e s a r e g e t t i n g v e ry
s m a l l and i t i s v e r y t i m e c o n s u m i n g f o r E x e c u t i v e to t r a v e l to 10
C o n s t i t u e n c y C o n f e r e n c e s a c r o s s the P r o v i n c e not to m e n t i o n the
e x p e n s e . PLEASE GIVE THIS SOME THOUGHT.
I hope many of the members p l a n on a t t e n d i n g the P r o v i n c i al
C o n v e n t i o n . It i s an e l e c t i o n y e a r , so we have a v e r y f u l l agenda.
I t seems we e i t h e r have too much t i m e or not enough t i m e to view
h a n d i c r a f t . Remember i t i s open at 10: 00am on the Tuesday m o r n i n g.
