Dear SfindfClPrv oyn^ oc^ a^ ce^,
Christmas greetings to you. we trust you had a good year.
2006 has been another very dry one for us - it is not only in
Our area. it is wide spread. It just goes on and on, life on the farm
Is getting harder, feeding hay to the cattle is a daily routine.
We have weaned or sold most of this years calves to help the cows
survive.
I have been working as the Haden School cleaner since July,
It ties me down a fair bit but I enjoy the company and the money.
Graham is kept busy with the farm, He turned 65 during the
Year , so I suppose we will have to think about moving off the
Farm before too much longer. We can still do the work but it
Takes longer . Graham's knees are starting to give him trouble.
In April a Reinke Family Reunion was organized at the
Goombungee Show Grounds, as this is one of the areas where
Many Reinkes settled. The day was well attended and we met
Up with relatives we hadn't seen in a long while and some we
Had never met before. An interesting book was published.
The original Reinke family arrived in Australia in 1876 from
Prussia.
Our Grandchildren are all growing up, David was 12 in October-
A teenager next year, he likes art, computer and soccer.
Daniel does well in Sport, running and high jumping and is a good
student. Benjamin likes to be doing things- a hands on person
Can do nearly any thing. Phillip started school this year. The girls
Are doing well too, Lindsey is a little lady, she was ten, is a keen
Student, and likes swimming. Karina is a live - wire and a lovely
Loving kid, she likes to do what her sister is doing, she started
school this year too. The boys are involved in the Boy's Brigade and
The girls are in the Girl's Brigade, they are run by the combined
Christian Churches.
Last week Graham and I went on a bus excursion organized
By the Boy's Brigade, we visited the Ipswich Railway Museum.
It was and interesting day.
We were involved with an Accordian Festival in October at
Maclagan. players come from far and wide, the/ Qre jcH^ u\ very
Talented players. An old time dance was held at night, f
The end of year parties have all started, it becomes rather hectic.
We still play indoor bowls and I still do some folk art with a couple
Of friends. Have run out of paper! ^
