CHRISTMAS was in
the air as eight members of
the Pine Lake branch met
tor their regular monthly
meeting. Christmas gifts
were exchanged as well as
identifying their secret sister
of the year by the
exchange of Christmas
cards. Doris Warke circulated
" Stress Buster Tips"
for the month of December
notably, " Schedule fun
times. Christmas will
come- ready or not" Faye
Nicholson displayed a hand
knitted bedspread on which
the floral emblems of each
Canadian province was pictured.
Members were tested
on their knowledge of our
country.
Faye Nicholson reported
that three Samaritan's Purse
Christmas boxes had been
ielivered to the Innisfail
Alliance church for shipment
to Calgary by
Greyhound. Isabelle Beck
had purchased a calendar
and mailed it to our Haden,
Australia pen friends.
Members brought cookies
and the branch donation of
twenty- one dozen will be
put on cookie plates for
Meals on Wheels. This
constituency project has
been carried out for several
years.
The Christmas family
supper was met with great
pleasure as thirteen members
and their spouses
enjoyed a meal at the
Dragon City Cafe\ Red
Deer on Friday, Dee. 5/ 03.
The November 29th
Christmas Market was a
success with nineteen vendors
displaying their wares
Each vendor was thanked
in writing for their participation.
It is planned to
stage a second Christmas
Market this year on
Saturday, November 27,
2004. Winner o f the poin-settia
was Gwen Renouf.
50/ 50 winners were
Isabelle Holt and Carol Van
Steinburg.
Members are already
planning for the upcoming
year. 2004 executive will
be as follows: President.
Doris Warke: Vice-
President, Isabelle Beck:
Secretary, Marion Brown:
Treasurer, Kathleen
Lawrence; Directors,
Teressa Greening and two
more to be named. Each
member will assume an
educational eonvenorship.
Annual dues will be paid as
well as a donation to the
AWI Office fund and
$ 50.00 to FWIC
Convention 2006. PLWI
" stockings" were emptied
and $ 23.00 w i l l be forwarded
to the FWIC Adelaide
Hoodless Project. The
January meeting will welcome
guests for the meet
ing and tea.
