ASSOCIATED WOMEN OF THE WORLD
Lorgot Project - The branch raised money for the Kenya women who are constructing a
storage building to preserve and dry vegetable and fruit produce. Pine Lake W. I. decided to raffle a bird feeder
in the design of a Kenya hut. Bruce Greening donated his time and material in the construction of the hut. A
raffle licence was obtained through the Gaming Commission with the sum of $'"" toward the project. Winners of
the November draw were Denis Tremblay ( Bird Feeder); Gwen Renouf ($ 25.00 gift certificate); Teressa Greening
($ 15.00 gift certificate) Branch donation was $ 153,000 ( raffle) + $ 25.00 ( Marmalade sale) = $ 178.00
Pennies For Friendship - October stockings @ $ 4.50/ member for a $ 49.50donation
Operation Christmas Child- Three boxes assembled by the branch for a boy or girl between
the ages of 6- 9 years of age Shipping charges covered by a donation of $ 5.00 for each box.
Continued link with the Haden Women, Queensland , Australia by sending Christmas
greetings to the Haden ladies through Lyn Reinke. The Australian calendar was won by Millie Munro as a lucky
draw.

AWARDS/ SPECIAL OCCASIONS:
The highlight of the branch year was the presentation of BRANCH LIFE MEMBERSHIPS
to Kathleen Lawrence and Millie Munro, long time dedicated members. Kathleen Lawrence has been a member
for 36 years, 25 of which she has had perfect attendance She has served in all branch offices as well as at the
three levels of provincial offices Millie Munro has been a member for 34 years, 13 of which she has had perfect
attendance Her special contribution has been at branch level where she has served continuously as an
educational convener and keeper of the Log Book. Five members of Millie's family joined members and spouses
for the celebration tea
John and Ella Sawyer again became grandparents December 21, 2003 with the birth of
Emitt Charles Cardinal, a third son for Beverly and Dwayne.
