Christmas Family Supper - Attendance of over 50 for the annual turkey supper, visit from
Santa and ten games of Bingo. Lucky winners received " loonie" gifts.
Christmas greetings were sent to past members.
Branch History kept up to date
Members volunteer hours were tabulated at 1,936.
CONSTITUENCY ACTIVITIES:
Annual Constituency Handicraft Tea and Display - April 28, 2001 at the Red Deer Museum
9/ 1 lmembers entered 22 articles. The Pine Lake branch placed THIRD with Lillie Clutton and Marilyn
Wattenbarger being recognized for outstanding articles in Hardanger and Cross Stitch.
Constituency Conference - November 10, 2001 at the Leslieville Community Hall. Branch
member. Marilyn Wattenbarger presided over the meeting along with five other branch members. Marion Brown
was recognized as one of the five executive AWI and FWIC members in attendance. Highlight of the day was the
tour of the Leslieville Cemetery, an ongoing project of Leslieville WI in maintaining the grounds. .
Meals on Wheels - 2 dozen cookies donated by each member for the 70 plates.

District III Workshop - March 15, 2001 at the HUB Community Centre, Pine Lake.
Branch members were congratulated for their volunteer spirit as 100% membership carried out duties of acting as
hostesses, registration clerks, manning ticket tables.
Balmoral W. I. 75t h Amm ersary Tea- May 6 ,2001. Afternoon enjoyed by PLWI members
of Lillie Clutton, Kathleen Lawrence, Dons Warke, and Marilyn Wattenbarger Two of our members lent their
voices to the choral group that entertained.
Office Fund - $ 50.00 as well as April Stocking money of $ 11.00 towards Provincial
Mailing fund
Alberta Women's Institutes Provincial Convention 2001 - Norseman Hotel, Camrose,
Alberta May 29- 31,2001. Theme. VOLUNTEERS. THE HEART OF THE COMMUNITY. Marilyn
Wattenbarger assisted in the convention program Branch members Kathleen Lawrence and Lillie Clutton also
attended Manon Brown was unable to attend as she and Roy were in Australia for the wedding of a special
young friend, Joey Stranger to Steve Batterham Manon sent her message to AWI via video tape.
Branch members supported the annual Hillsdown Tea.
Marion Brown as Executive Officer of FWIC attended the two Council meetings - January
26/ 27 and September 21/ 22, 2001 at the AWI Office in Wetaskiwin. Alberta.
FEDERATED WOMEN'S INSTITUTES OF CANADA:
Marion Brown as Executive Officer of FWIC representing Alberta Women's Institute
members, attended the FWIC Board meeting July 14- 17,2001 in Wetaskiwin and the November Executive
meeting November 24- 27, 2001 in Ottawa. The PLWI again showed their volunteer spirit as they hosted the
FWIC Board at the HUB Community Centre, July 15, 2001 for a pot luck supper. It was an unique opportunity to
meet the FWIC executive and provincial presidents from all across Canada. Marion Brown who organized the
Central Alberta tour for the FWIC Board, proudly showed off the yellow canola fields and green fields. A tour
of the Kiwanis Safety City in Red Deer proved to be a most appreciated stop. President Kathleen Lawrence
expressed her thanks to the husbands who helped in the hosting and presented each member with a Volunteer Kit
to show her appreciation for the volunteerism.

December Stocking Fund of $ 2.30/ member was sent for the FWIC Adelaide Hoodless
