National convention comes to Red Deer
Federated Women's branch organizations and
Institutes of Canada w i ll
h o l d their triennial
convention i n Red Deer,
June 14 to 17.
Approximately 400
members of Women's
Institute branches from
across Canada w i l l gather
at the Capri Hotel and
Convention Centre to
exchange ideas, hear
experts speak on issues
w i t h i n our society,
discuss ways to help,
review their last three
years and formulate plans
for the next three.
Women's institutes is an
oiganizatiop of women
who study issues relating
to Home and Country
( their motto), discuss
solutions and act on their
resolutions by social
a c t i v i sm and/ or
education. Speakers at
the convention are
experts i n such fields as
Family Violence Law,
First Nations and Inuit
Health, Rural Women's
Health and Community
Empowerment i n Solving
Youth Problems. These
and other issues w i l l be
discussed and the
information taken back to
home branches across
Canada, where
appropriate government
agencies
l o b b i e d . .
w i l l
in

communities, city halls,
P r o v i n c i a l Legislatures
and Federal Government.
Alberta Women's
institutes are proud hosts.
The delegates will be
shown a slice of Alberta
throughout the
convention with an
evening of entertainment,
tours to many places of
interest in Central Alberta
and a Barbecue and
Rodeo as part of " Alberta
Day."
