S E V E N T E E N T H A N N U A L C A N V E N T I ON 35 the many phases of the Women's Institute work, and have accomplished very much indeed, b r i g h t e n i n g the lives of others in their homes, in their communities, and in religious o u t l o o k on life. They have helped the educational as w e l l as the social side by t r y i n g to Canadianize the foreign elements in the r u r a l districts ( and they seem to predominate in the south) to a great extent, and it is wonderful what has been done i n ' brightening and c a r i n g for cemeteries, planting trees and caring for them after they are planted, which is a great item. It is c e r t a i n l y becoming a Sunshine t r a i l in earnest. We have some very good earnest, energetic workers in our G i r l s ' Clubs, and they are doing good work, and all W . I . members should help them all they can, as we hope they w i l l be our future W. I. workers. I am very proud of the Constituency Conveners in Southern A l b e r t a , and only those attending the Southern D i s t r i c t Conference can realize the work that has been done, by h e a r i n g the reports f r om the Constituencies. You w i l l, I know, understand how I regret that my term of office is ended, but hope my successor w i l l c a r r y on and get as much happiness and pleasure out of the w o r k as I have done. In 1921 I went to my first P r o v i n c i a l Convention as official delegate, in 1922 I was elected Constituency Convener, w h i c h office I held un'til I was elected D i s t r i c t D i r e c t o r in 1927, re- elected in 1929, and have attended 69 conferences and conventions without having to miss one through i l l health, w h i c h is, I think, a great deal to be thankful for. I n my D i s t r i c t I have 11 Constituencies, v i z .; Warner—- Constituency Convener, M r s . J . A . Campbell, M i l k R i v e r ; has six branches, 179 members and have raised $ 1902.99. Cardston— Convener. Mrs. Stuty, C a r d s t o n ; four branches, 72 members; have raised $ 602.15. B o w Valley— Convener, M r s . B e l l , H u s s a r ; six ' branches,- 147 members; have r a i s e d $ 2216.65. Macleod— Convener, M r s . Greenwood. M a c l e o d ; four branches, 107 members; have raised $ 950.60. P i n c h e r Creek and R o c k y Mountain— Convener, M r s . B l a n c h a r d , B u r m i s ; four branches, 51 members; have raised $ 729.75. Gleichen— Convener, M r s . D . Clark, C l u n y ; nine branches, 210 members; have raised $ 1775.28. Redcliff— Convener, Mrs. Brassard. A t l e e ; four branches, 49 members; have raised $ 387.95.
