HANNAFORD, Margaret Isobel ( 1907 - 1993) Long time resident of the Botha d i s t r i c t , Isobel Hannaford passed away p e a c e f u l l y at her home on Tuesday, September 7th, 1993, at 86 years and 3 months of age. She was born on June 7th, 1907 i n Almonte, Ontario. The family came west to Bassano in 1909 and then to the Hutton area. Isobel married Edmund James Hannaford of Howie i n December, 1936. The family moved to the Botha d i s t r i c t in 1948 where she resided u n t i l her passing. Isobel loved her family and her friends and her grandchildren were always a s p e c i a l joy. She d e l i g h t e d i n a l l c h i l d r e n and was never too busy to spend time with them. I s o b e l enjoyed k n i t t i n g and crocheting and kept her family w e l l supplied. During World War I I , Isobel put her k n i t t i ng s k i l l s to work, even teaching Edmund to k n i t and they made socks, b a l a c l a v a s , mittens and gloves by the box f u l l f o r the Red Cross. Isobel k n i t many mittens from r e c y c l e d wool f o r the S u p e r f l u i ty Shop i n S t e t t l e r. Isobel was an a c t i v e member of the Botha W. I. She was very proud to be a l i f e member of the Botha U. C. W. Isobel i s s u r v i v e d by her c h i l d r e n : Donald ( Sylvia) Hannaford of Delburne, their children Darin and Denise of Edmonton, daughter S h i r l e y ( Lloyd) Schultz of Botha, their c h i l d r e n Randy and Laurie of Calgary.
