Mrs. Spinks, Mrs. R. G. Dentman, and Mrs. H. Johnsman were the local
former members present.
Letters read included those from Mrs. H. Cutler, Miss Esta Stuart,
Mesdames L. S. Cutler, Ruby Alter, Jessie Kennedy, Halpin. Sibbald,
Veefkind, Lemon, Bell, Tuckey, Byers, Chaffee, Loyd, Cha pman, Frisken,
Birkness, and Wynn.
Mrs. Bell generously sent a lovely cushion cover - hand- embroidered
by herself and a towel set with tatted edging. Tickets were sold on
these, netting $ 15.15 for our Treasury. Mrs. J. Ralston and Mrs. J. Duke
were the lucky winners.
Duets by Miss Mavis Manson and Miss Marion Wiley accompanied by
Mrs. Baudais, were enjoyed.
As Handicrafts Convenor, Mrs. Grinde had arranged a beautiful
display of handicrafts in the upstairs rooms. These were viewed following
the program.
Mrs. Mellis then cut the beautifully decorated 3- tier cake made by
Mrs. Ruth Smith, and a delicious tea was served by the hostess who
was graciously assisted by Mrs. Manson, Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Hemphill,
Mrs. Duke, Miss Manson, Miss Wiley and several other members.
Perhaps the most enjoyable feature of the meeting was the pleasure
in meeting again many old frinds, some of whom had not seen each other
for years, hearing of or from those of our circle who were absent, and
the wonderful feeling of friendship and fellowhsip which made us realize
again the " in the big things of life we are one."
