ALBERTA WOMEN'S INSTITUES CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION CLASSES: FICTION: NON- FICTION: POETRY: PLAY: FICTION, NON- FICTION, POETRY, PLAY. Short Story of 1000 - 3000 words An article of ' 1000 - 2000 words Minimum 12 lines to maximum if 72 lines Short Play of 1000 - 300D words RULES: 1. All entries must be original and unpublished. 2. 3. 4. Competition open to all members of the Alberta Women's Institutes Copyright will be retained by the author, except for publication of winning entries by Alberta Women's Institutes Entries must be typewritten or carefully hand written, DOUBLE SPACED AND WRITTEN ON ONE SIDE OF THE PAPER ONLY. Each entry must be signed by pen name only. The name, address, postal code, TELEPHONE # and Women's Institute branch of the contestant must be enclosed in a sealed envelope with the category - Fiction, Non- Fiction, Play, or Poetry written on the outside of the envelope. Only one prize will be awarded to each contestant in each category. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes will be awarded in each category. All entries must be accompanied by a return self addressed envelope to ensure the return to the author. Entries to be sent to the Provincial Office of the Alberta Women's Institutes, 6604 82 Ave.. Edmonton. AB. T6B OE7. DEADLINE MARCH 15, every year. ADJUDICATOR'S DECISION WILL BE FINAL WE ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO JOIN IN AND ENTER. NB . Each entry will receive a copy of the adjudicator's comments.
