Florence Bernakevitch, Vice President
Diane Smith - District 1 Director
Phyllis Kosik - District 2 Director
Ada Ashton - District 3 Director
Darlene Wicks - District 4 Director
Darlene Hallett - District 5 Director
Fern Killeen - Executive Director
1. Call to Order: Maxean Brigley called meeting to order at 4: 00 pm, May 27, 2001. Mary Stewart
Collect recited.
2. Diane Smith moved permission to change agenda, seconded by Mildred Luz. Carried.
3. Corrections to the minutes were clarified and typographic errors noted. Darlene Hallett moved to
accept the minutes as corrected: seconded by Darlene Wicks. Carried.
4. Business arising from minutes:
a. Girl's Clubs - review of club and funding
• Darlene Hallett and Phyllis Kosik reviewed activities in Girls' Clubs in their respective areas.
• Discussion was held regarding the amount of money being held for the clubs from member
donations. Maxean noted that this money should be dispersed to the clubs, or the membership
advised that the clubs do not require further donations.
• Darlene and Phyllis were requested to investigate what monetary help their respective clubs
could use and report to the September meeting. They are to let the leaders know that if money
is required to send girls to the REDA Goldeye camp, application can be made to the office.
• Wilma Hansen of the Innisfail club will be giving a report at the convention of her club's
activities and a display board will be on display from her group and the Drayton Valley club.
b. Duties & Directives Manual
• The updated version of the Duties and Directives Manual will be reviewed at the September
meeting and will incorporate any changes that might result from the convention motions.
c. Scholarship Update:
• Carol Brown was awarded the Muriel Bronson Scholarship from FWIC in the amount of $ 100.
• Carol Brown submitted an application for the Cornelia Wood Scholarship. Fern Killeen was
also considered for this scholarship to assist in the payment of her Simply Accounting Course.
Motion # 1 - Moved by Ada Ashton that the Cornelia Wood Scholarship be awarded to Fern
Killeen in the amount of $ 100.00 for Simply Accounting and $ 75.00 for Carol Brown for
Behavior Management. Seconded by Diane Smith. Carried.
