January with all our snow and ice is slipping by quickly. Think Convention and warm weather will soon be here. As you know our Theme is `Let's Celebrate Alberta'. We are very proud of our Province. The dates for the Convention are June 7, 8 and 9th at the Norsemen Inn in Camrose. This year is an election year I hope you will say `yes' if asked to let your name stand for any of the very important positions. I know there are many members who have so much to offer the Women's Institute. Here is your chance to meet the challenge, you can do it! Nominee's names should be sent to Maxean Brigley, 19 Riverview Circle, Cochrane, Alberta T0L 0W4 before 15 April, 2005. Reminders: Tin Can Raffle Table: an item of $10.00 or better is needed for the table. H Centre Piece Competition: 12 inches any material depicting Alberta's 100th Anniversary. Any member or branch may enter this competition. Judging will be by 10cents a vote. If you wish, these Centre Pieces will be auctioned off after the banquet. It is up to the owner to decide this. Writing Competition: entries are to be in the office by 15 March. Are you ready to take part in our Fun Night on Tuesday evening? Don't forget to donate to the Office Fund as Women's Institute is our top priority. These are just a few little reminders. Handicrafts: when sending your handicrafts to the convention please use this address: Norsemen Inn, 6505-48 Avenue, Camrose, Alberta T4V 3K3 marked `Attention Catering' I would like to thank the Branch Secretaries for their good reports to me, I shall miss these. February 19th is Founders Day, did you celebrate? If so please tell us what your branch did. Our current priority for AWI is membership. We need publicity in all our areas, choose interesting speakers, and craft days, luncheon get togethers, some fun times. Members be sure to have a delegate for the Convention and put her name on the Registration Form. Fern needs to know the names in order to make up the Voting Cards. Name Tags and Tickets: You must have your tags with you at all times as `no tag' means `no meal'. In Alberta we are very proud to boast of four Girl's Clubs with a membership of sixty-five.
