Hold a Tea and Baking Competition in connection with Annual Flower and Vegetable Show with District Agriculturist as Judge. Prizes by the W.I. A Bake Sale with Roast Chicken Raffle is a good money-maker if well advertised beforehand and tickets sold only on day of sale. For the Dinner to be raffled someone donates a chicken, another roasts it, others donate things to make up a dinner for four to six people, depending on size of chicken. Hobo Tea-Mostly for fun of spontaneous socialibity and adventure. One Member starts 'hoboing' stops for another, who comes as she is, they pick up another and another. They drop in on someone for tea. The Hostess serves them just whatever she chances to have handy. The Hobos pay 25 cents or . . . ? each, whatever has been decided on and she turns it in to the W.I. at the end of the Hobo season. Bakeless Bake Sale is another money-making event with co-operation of many members and friends. Send out the following to Members and their friends with a note saying where to send the money: A BAKELESS BAKE SALE A. bit of news we have todayA Bakeless Bake Sale is on the way. On these busy days, now who would bake Pies, cookies or even cake? You'd be surprised if you counted the cost, Of material, heat and the time you've lost, Cookies for a sale is extra work, Yet nobody really wishes to shirk. So we have thought of a plan that is grand, And feel quite certain that you'll understand, In a little envelope please put the pr.ice Of a pie or cake or something nice. Without fuss or bother you've done your part We're sure you'll give with a willing heart. This is the end of our little tale Thank you for helping our Bakeless Bake Sale. Bazaars and Carnivals-Plan your Bazaars well in advance and under the chairmanship of one Member who is pleasant, persuasive and with lots of time and ideas. Give the Bazaar a name such as Frosty Fair; Christinas Festival; Snowflake, etc. A Sub-Chairman should be appointed to be Hin charge of each booth-aprons, baby items, baked good, books, cards and stationery, chance, gifts, plants, white elephants and refreshments. A variety of items such as pot holders, pillow cases, tea towels, runners, quilts, Chesterfield Sets, Christmas Crackers, popcorn balls, cooking and baking, recipes, corsages, waste-paper baskets from anti-freeze cans (give two coats of. enamel inside and out, put on flower motifs cut from wallpaper remnant and coat with colorless nail polish) can be offered for sale.
