has 'outdistanced' the USA —
and the urgent need to catch up
in the next five years
In this estimation Washing-ton
is supported by NATO and
has put the squeeze on ali mem-be- rs
(including Canada) to
pitch in against the spectre of a
'Soviet threat'
But a recent unofficial US
defence study says the oppo-sit-e
UPI reports the study is
called a 'broad picture of im-men- se
US military strength'

$202-billio- n in 1980 alone 4

and NATO have an advantage

something the USSR

not accept Reagan's presi-denti- al

the suicidal prospect of a
'vvinnable' nuclear war and the
insane theory of the possibility
of surviving after delivering a
first strike against the USSR

betvveen the US-NAT- O arms
build-u- p and the dangerous
'theories' of vvinnability and
survivability being floated
