ESCAPE FROM 'PARADISE'
Y TKACHENKO TASS correspondent
The door to the capitalist
'paradise' so much advertised
in the West opens in different
vvays But to those who have had
enough of it realized the gist of
the 'freedoms' and want to go
back home this door is slamm-e- d
to become an insurmoun-tabl- e
barrier
Proof of this is provided by
the trumped up 'case' of the
family of the Polovchaks in the
United States Another eviden-c- e
Is the story of Illya and
Klavdia of the Mironchuk fa-mily
vvho have returned to
Chelyabinsk after an ordeal
The Mironchuks yielding
to the heart-splitti-ng and continu- -
ed persuasion by Dzikovich
Klavdia's father left for the
United States late in 1979
Dzikovich had written to her
that he was alone and paralyz-e- d
'Come here to see me bury
me and take my property' he
pleaded
This turned out to be a
fraud At the Chicago airport
the Mironchuks were picked up
by a healthy and vigorous
Dzikovich They were given a
pompous welcome attended by
two priests The 'first family
returning to freedom from Si- -
beria' was hospitably presented
vvith an offering of bread and
sait on a Ukrainian tovvel No
less pompous vvas the meeting
in the home of Dzikovich
where about 70 people assem-ble- d
at tables with lavish food
After the meal the guests
vvere taken to a house next door
in vvhose hali literally stuffed
vvith microphones and record-in- g
equipment the Ukrainian
nationalists had got everything
ready for a press conference At
the very start of it the Mironc- -
huks vvere asked to describe in
detail 'the hunger and poverty
in the country of the Soviets the
little waifs and strays' and so
on
Ilya did not succumb to the
provocation and said that he
had not come to give interviews
but to look after a sick relative
Dzikovich attempted to make a
joke out of it but still Miron--
chuk flatly refused to smear the
Soviet Union In this way the
'family conflict' had started
The Mironchuks were de- -
termined to go back home That
