- Jemberg oli lähtenyt lujaa ja joh­t
i 5 kmn kohdalla 13 sekunnin eroi­l
l a Hämäläiseen. Kolmantena ja nel­jäntenä
olivat Pelkonen ja Hakuli­nen
4 j ' a 2 sekuntia ennen Räm-gardia,
joka oli viidentenä. Ensim-läSiäellä
peninkulmalla, jonka täyt-
?tyessä-Jiiihtäjät,.palasivat stadionil­le,
Jernberg oli ennättänyt tavoittaa
j A n i k i n i n ; j a ohitti hänet j u u r i ' k a t ­somon
edessä.
Rämgard oli hiihtänyt hyvin toi­sen
viisikilometrisen j a ohitti hiih-tostadionin
samalla väliajalla kuin
Hakulinen. 10 kmn kohdalla Jern-berg
siis johti edelleen 23 sekuntia
' e n n e n Hämäläistä, ;joka kuitenkin
piti^edelleen mainiota .vauhtia yllä
ladulla, jota hän tavallaan "aukoi".
Hämäläisellä oli 10 sekunnin etu­matka
Hakuliseen ja Rämgardiin,

.väliaika 34.jl6,5. Pelkonen ja Anikin
jakoivat- viidennen sijan^iajalla 34-
21; ; Jensen vaikutti norjalaisista

Hämäläinen näytti olevan hyvissä
voimissa;kiertäessään punaisten:;ja^

hiihtostadionilla 20 kmn kohdalla-
Hänelle merkittiin väliaika 1.10.44
ja Hakulinen pli''houssut toiseksi.
Hänen väliaikansa oli 1.11.05 ja
kolmäntena-olijlämgard,; joka.tässä
"vaiheessa oli Hakulisesta 13 sekun­tia
jäljessä. "Jernberg oli neljänte^
nä ajalla 1.11.31 j a Pelkonen seu-'

25 km:n kohdalla todettiin kah­den
suomalaisen olevan edelleen
kärjessä; Hämäläinen oli säilyttänyt
ykkössijansa Hakulisen, Rämgardin
ja Jernebrgin ollessa seuraavina;
Hämäläisen väliaika puolimatkassa
oli 1.27.52,7 ja Hakulinen oli hä­nestä
22 sekuntia jäijessä- Rämgard
oli edelleen kolmantena vain 8 se­kuntia
Hakulisesta jääneenä,, mut­ta
Jernberg oli saanut päästää Här
mäläisen jo yli minuutin päähän.
Pelkonen ahdisti Jernbergiä ja oli
ainoastaan seitsemän sekunnin
päässä kuulusta ruotsalaisesta. Rä­sänen
oli seitsemäntenä: Vaganovin
ollessa hänen ja Pelkosen välissä.
Sijoilla 8—10 olivat tässä vaiheessa
Anikin, Jensen ja Brenden.

30 km:n kohdalla oli tapahtunut
sellainen muutos, että Pelkonen ja
Vaganov olivat ohittaneet. Jernberr
gin, joka ei saanut sujuvuutta me­noonsa
ruotsalaisten suureksi. pet!-
tymykseksi; Hämäläinen johti ajal­la
1.44.33. Hän oli 23 sekuntia edel­lä
Hakulista, joka puolestaan oli
jättänyt Rämgardin 24 sekunnin
päähän. Pelkonen oli tavoittanut
ruotsalaista ja oli 37 sekuntia Räm­gardin
"huonommalla .puolella';-,:
mutta Vaganov oli aivan Pelkosen
kannoilla. Seuraavana oli Jernberg.
joka kuitenkin oir jäänyt lähes kak­si

sekunnilla. Hakulinen oli puoles­taan

Kun Hämäläinen saapui hiihtosta­dionille
johdettuaan suurimman
osan matkasta, aavistettiin katso­mossa,:
että kultamitalimies-oli tU:
lossa maaliin. Yleisö, joka ymmärsi

for the proposed board;

in the city where the board is es-tablisKed.
2) It would be financcd for inci-dental
expenses (paper, postage,
stationery) either directly by the
Vapaus or by a fund shared by
the F.O. of''O. and F.C.A.S.F. na­tional
executives. In either case,
a: f u l l accounting :'of disbursements'
with regular audits will be main-tained.
3) The editorial'board will con-sist
of no more than three mem-bersi
one of which..will be the prin-cipal

Perhaps the base for this sug­gestion
is that the young people
need their own medium of the
press. The "New Voice" was a re-flection
of :this: need- :We think. it
is' not possible for one editor, on
a part time hasis, to do this. Just
as our organizations have ~grown
from the bottom up, we think our
English language press mustgrow
the sam6way.Itis:easy:to see that
there is a great deal of writing.ta-lent
in our. organizations across the
country. W h a t i t n e e d s . i s co-ordina-tion
and direction, and perhaps a
little bit: of concentrated prodding.
And Pm sure, we aU realize the powr
er of a live, vital press. We cer-tainly
do not claim we in Toronto
are - the most capableito; dp this
but darn it — we are willing.

Luin, että Setä haluaisi enemmän
suomenkielisiä kirjeitä. Lapset,
joilla on tässä maassa syntynyt isä
ja äiti pakkaavat puhumaan vain
englanninkieltä. Tyttöystävälleni-kään
ei ole opetettu suomenkieltä
ja ihänellä on kova-innostus kirjoit­taa
perheen nuoremmille.

of the games? Most of them were
right.

run off, and brother if you missed

Under 14 boys was won by Jackie
Krats of Jehu. This was not
a championship event SO: no; gold
was dishcd out.
At 1 o'clock sharp the öid boys

gold went to the Lakehead and i n -
,to the pocket of Alfred •Widgren
and ^0 bein& the second one to
have won a dotible gold medal af­ter
Arlene. Antti also got two
gold§ SO we had three double gold
medal winners-in this meet.

Pentti Oman of Jehu which gave
