Yes sir, i t was ohe of the best affairs we've attended for a ong time. Thousands of people,böth young and old töok in varaus aspects öf the Tehth Music Festival of the Finnish Organi-ätion of Ganadä.; Andnobody was disappointed- The performances bf the four participating mixed choirs blus their women*s and nien's choirs, was of an extremelyhigh '"andard and even the most demanding music critics wereready I doff their hats for a job well done. The highlight of thö cul-iral events was of cour^.the öantata-Mgari sävel' whichwas Iresented by the massed choirs with over a hundred singers alstered by the 16-man strong Toronto bapd. In addition to the well rehearsed musical prögram there; i^ere many pther interesting program ntunbers such as folk Jances and recitations, which added colour to the Festival; And in addition to the wonderiul concerts thät were held tie Festival proyided an exceller^topportunity to nie«t countlöss lld f riends, who vhad • travelled f rom distant points. Hundreds bf *"innish-Ganadians had flocked to the Festival and in addition seems that the border must have been a busy place with so any Finnish-Americans arriving to take in the festivities. As a matter of fact many people had SO many interests on ne side that theydid not have an opportunity to enjoy the per-ormances of the choirs. The words of one young out-of-towner jrobafaly best exemplify the attitude of this group, who rievef isJ one of our big festivals, but who on the other hand meet s6 any friends that they only get in on the "fringes •'of the Festi-lal. We heard this young chap exclaim to a friend of his as?he ame up to the bandshell as the cantata was being presented: Say, this is good, I wouldn't want to miss thisagain!' As the yreekend revelry came to a close it seemed the möst ommon parting words were:"Seeyou at the Liittojuhla": Yes sir, we sure will. It might be a timely reminder that bere is only a few weeks to go and it is time to start läyirig feide the necessary sheckles to make the trip, (They say debts kcurred during the Music Festival cian be held over uatil after he Liittojuhla.) . . The music lovers and active people in the Finnish conmiuni-les got together during a luU inthe festivities and unanimoiisly: '-reed that. the next Music Festival should be held in Port thur. The young people did not doso well. Although ä meet- |ig of young people had been scheduled it did not materiälize id urgent youth problems will have to be discussed on änother ccasion. Weil, the big weekend is over and after we catch up on oixt

Yes sir, i t was ohe of the best affairs we've attended for a
ong time. Thousands of people,böth young and old töok in varaus
aspects öf the Tehth Music Festival of the Finnish Organi-ätion

The performances bf the four participating mixed choirs
blus their women*s and nien's choirs, was of an extremelyhigh

I doff their hats for a job well done. The highlight of thö cul-iral
events was of cour^.the öantata-Mgari sävel' whichwas
Iresented by the massed choirs with over a hundred singers
alstered by the 16-man strong Toronto bapd.
In addition to the well rehearsed musical prögram there;
i^ere many pther interesting program ntunbers such as folk
Jances and recitations, which added colour to the Festival;
And in addition to the wonderiul concerts thät were held
tie Festival proyided an exceller^topportunity to nie«t countlöss
lld f riends, who vhad • travelled f rom distant points. Hundreds bf
*"innish-Ganadians had flocked to the Festival and in addition
seems that the border must have been a busy place with so
any Finnish-Americans arriving to take in the festivities.
As a matter of fact many people had SO many interests on
ne side that theydid not have an opportunity to enjoy the per-ormances
of the choirs. The words of one young out-of-towner
jrobafaly best exemplify the attitude of this group, who rievef
isJ one of our big festivals, but who on the other hand meet s6
any friends that they only get in on the "fringes •'of the Festi-lal.
We heard this young chap exclaim to a friend of his as?he
ame up to the bandshell as the cantata was being presented:
Say, this is good, I wouldn't want to miss thisagain!'
As the yreekend revelry came to a close it seemed the möst
ommon parting words were:"Seeyou at the Liittojuhla":
Yes sir, we sure will. It might be a timely reminder that
bere is only a few weeks to go and it is time to start läyirig
feide the necessary sheckles to make the trip, (They say debts
kcurred during the Music Festival cian be held over uatil after
he Liittojuhla.) . .
The music lovers and active people in the Finnish conmiuni-les
got together during a luU inthe festivities and unanimoiisly:
'-reed that. the next Music Festival should be held in Port
thur. The young people did not doso well. Although ä meet-
|ig of young people had been scheduled it did not materiälize
id urgent youth problems will have to be discussed on änother
ccasion. Perhaps the Liittojuhla willmake it possible tb get
Dgether for a discussion especially as to the future of this päge.
Well, we'll have to drop tte typewriter and^ shoulder. a
