It was difficult for us to decide

would have been an extreme break

traditional "Joulu Sauna" (Christmas
steambath).
"Don't davdle over that sauna,"

eight in the men's camp."
That was ali new and. exciting.

made. of logs or- tar-paper-covered
lumber, with rows of bimks along

or two huge Quebec heaters were kept

usually haug from the raft^^s for the
daily wet gamients and leather mitts.

For this special occasion the clothes­lines
were out of sightas were the
dozens of mitts, socks, boots. Benches
