Helien Spent Night
at Sally's Home
Hello sister Margaret. •
How are you? i ' m feeling fine. It's
a beautiful day'today. Tm writing
my letter outside. The snow is going
away at last. I was at Sally's houss
ovemight last night. It was Laila's
birthday (Sally's sister) and did we
have f un! We giggled and laughed
and did everything under the sun
until Sally"s mother told us to go to
bed. It tvas almost 11 o'clock.
My birthday was on March 3rd. I
didn't have a party but I got lots oi
nice presents. I got a statue of a
horse from daddy. It is a small
statue but is it ever pretty! I also
got a pair of stocking fr(^fn my grcat-grandmother
and a hanky with a Picture
of a girl ^ i t h skates on it. Do
I ever like it. I got many presents
from school and oh yes. I got a dollar
from my atrnt and imcle, B i l l and
Martha. My grandmother is maklng
me a nightgown. Is it ever pretty! I
saw it already but she would not give
it to me because she h3sn't finished
embroidering on it yet. I'm going to
town with my father tomorrow and
my sister is coming too. We're just
going for the ride and my aunt might
cut my hair.
m ansTver my riddles now. Why
has the giraffe such a long neck?
Because its head is so t»T from its
body. If a dime and a nickel were
on a bridge and the nickel jumped
off. why wouldn't the dime? Because
it had more sense. (ceiMs)..
My chickadees are out here again.
They aren't so taine anymore. I guess
I can tame them again next year. I
hope SO. I haven't got much more
to say but maybe if \ t h i n k a little
I can write more.
