President of the L'nited States over Hungary and her
people are ineomprehensible The President by his action
robbed from the Hunjrarian the only treasure that they
still c-ou-ld
call as their own: the hope for freedom for
life without foreijrn occupation
The presidential decision is deplorable not only because
it sanctions and the occupation of Hunjrary and
preares her for the fate of the Baltié States but be-cause
does not sérve the best interestes of the l'nited
States either
In a time when the very fabric of our national intejrri-t- y
honesty the soundness of our Government are tested
at home deals on the field of foreijrn poliy
and will restore the lost piv-ti- ge either of our Government
or of our President
Therefore the Hunjrarian Freedom Fijrhters Fedira-tio- n
— representinjí and expressinjr the true and basic
interests of the silenced oppressed Hunjrarian nation
and on behalf of Americans concernecl with the fuiula-ment- al
American interests in Central Europe — call unon
the President of the l'nited States to reverse his position
and instruction the representatives of the l'nited States
in Vienna to enerjretically pursue the of
Hunjrary to full membership status in the prepára tory
talks and to assure that her territory be included in the
area of projected troop cuts

The Hunjrarian Freedom Fiphters Federation reeojr-nize- s
the fact that the nejrotiations aimed at military force
reduction in Central Europe called Mutual and
Balanced Force Reduction talk — are necessary and in
the framework of currently actinjr domestic and inter-nation- al
pressures are inevitable
These nejrotiations however should try to positively
foster the free political development of Central Europe
and contain inherent assurances that they do not inad-vertent- ly
sérve an eXpansive and ajrressive Soviet policy
in Europe
